Helicobacter pylori ( H.Pylori)
“In mid-October last year, after eating a particularly spicy soup, I developed what seemed to be ‘heartburn This heartburn feeling became so severe I was afraid to eat anything. As the weeks went on, the heartburn feeling moved it’s way down into my stomach and now became excruciating, with the pain lasting anywhere from 15 minutes to 2 hours. During these ‘attacks’ I would be incapacitated and just have to lie down . . I still was leary of eating, and lost 25 pounds. Thank goodness I could at least handle the Shaklee protein and my supplements, to give me some nutrients.
After many weeks and many tests from my doctor, a 70% accurate blood test indicated I likely had Helicobacter Pylori (H. Pylori) , a bacteria that attaches to the inside lining of your stomach. A breath test, which is 95% accurate, confirmed I had H. Pylori. I was to go on a program of two different antibiotics and a drug for acid reflux. My doctor told me that this regime works about 70% of the time, but there was a good chance it could come back again.
I prefer the non-drug route if I can, so I increased my intake of the Shaklee Garlic tabs, as I knew they worked as a natural antibiotic. Gradually, the pain seemed to go lower, and into the bowel area.
Eventually (now mid Jan), I called Dr Brouse in Portland Oregan, who commented that it had probably been ‘pushed’ down into the bowel causing the pain there. Dr Brouse appeared to know what to do immediately, and recommended that I start the following regime of Shaklee supplements:-
Garlic at least 3tabs 3x daily
CorEnergy 1 tab 3 x daily
Zinc 1 tab 3 x daily
Optiflora 1
pearl+
powder 3 x daily
After the first day, I had no more pain, and over the following 2 weeks, I had only 2 mild ‘attacks’
After 2 weeks I was told to add the strongest Pepto Bismol 3 x daily for a week ( I took the tablets as the liqud contains saccharin)
Since then, I’ve had no more problems, only I find that if I take Optiflora twice a day with a small amount of the powder, I feel much better overall” Mary-Ann Kennedy White Rock .BC
